Orthodontic appliances are devices designed to correct the faulty positions of teeth and position of the jawbones where they sit.

Orthodontic appliances straighten the teeth by exerting constant pressure on them and keeping them in a fixed position for a certain period of time. Most children need regular orthodontic appliances made of wires and rubber bands that correct the dentures by pressing on it. Orthodontic braces help move the teeth while the rubber bands help correct the alignment.

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that is also responsible for “bite” problems, as well as to guide the breaking through of teeth and the development of the jaws.
