Pediatric Dentistry
Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry that treats children. Responsible for detecting possible anomalies with the teeth also the position of the jaws and teeth which may be refered to the orthodontist, to propose a orthodonitc treatment if required. The restorative treatment mainly consists of treating the cavities, apply sealants, which consists of slightly filling the grooves and fissures of the teeth without hardly removing dental material to avoid possible decay.
The main difference between regular dentistry and pediatric dentistry is in the treatment of tooth decay as the first teeth are temporary, milk teeth which affects the treatment. Cavities that occur in the temporary teeth will be treated slightly more aggressive than those that occur in permanent teeth. The reason is to avoid damaging the successor/permanent tooth.
